Suggested approaches

Students can work in small groups to complete the introductory tasks, celebrity BMI worksheet and investigate the impact of the healthy living programme. The latter task gives students the opportunity to produce a report that could be given as a presentation or a poster.

+
Resources/documentation

In addition to these teacher guidance notes there are further notes that incorporate worksheets for students and an open task evaluating the impact of a healthy living programme. Data for the healthy living programme is available in a spreadsheet.

+
Relevant digital technologies

A spreadsheet can be used to inform the evaluation of the healthy living programme.

+
Possible extensions

Students can be encouraged to use a variety of statistical techniques to evaluate the healthy living programme, e.g. box and whisker plots, standard deviation, correlation.
